5 potential future Steelers Mike Tomlin should watch during Bowl season

The Pittsburgh Steelers need to choose wisely in the NFL Draft to reload their team, and there are a few players whose bowl games they should pay close attention to.

At this point of the NFL season, the Pittsburgh Steelers are likely facing their first losing season in the Mike Tomlin era. Given how many years Tomlin has been at the helm, that’s quite astonishing but bound to happen.

No coach ever goes through a career without at least one losing season. That said, it will provide a clear insight into how the franchise should look to improve itself this offseason, starting in several areas.

For one, the offense is sometimes abysmal, and the offensive line has been a disaster. When Mike Munchak coordinated the group, there was promise, and now, there are questions. That begs the question of what the team will do.

Throughout their history of winning, the Steelers have been a team that dominated the line of scrimmage. If they want to return to those winning ways, it would be best to address those issues and ensure that such problems do not occur.

That said, here are some potential prospects that will be on the board for the Steelers by the time they make a selection in the NFL Draft.

Anton Harrison

OT, Sooners

Despite all the struggles that have taken place in Norman this year, one of the key standouts has been left tackle Anton Harrison, whose style and play separates him from a vast majority of tackles in this upcoming draft.

Harrison plays with a mean streak that would make his predecessors at Oklahoma proud, and his quickness and explosiveness off the line of scrimmage show that he is not afraid to engage in blocking against bull rushes and speed rushers. Additionally, he has done that against top-notch competition.

In the NFL, that is what Harrison will face on a daily basis. He has shown that he is capable of doing that. All he has to do is show it again in a Cheez-It bowl game against Florida State, at the combine, and on his Pro Day. The Steelers could use him and plug him in on Day One if necessary. What they have right now isn’t working, and any help is essential.
