When it comes to which NFL head coaches are on the hot seat after Week 12, these three stand out.

Week 12 of the NFL season is mostly completed, awaiting just for the Indianapolis Colts-Pittsburgh Steelers game to finish things up. Considering that there are only six more weeks remaining in the 2022 campaign, that means playoff are becoming much clearer. Not just that, but there is a better idea of which teams are going to be selecting high in the 2023 NFL Draft.

The same can be said for who is on the hot seat.

On the Monday after the end of the regular season, teams make their decisions as to whether they want to make a change at head coach, general manager, or more.

When it comes to head coaches on the hot seat, these three saw the temperature rise.

3 NFL coaches on the hot seat after Week 12: Nathaniel Hackett, Broncos

Let’s start off with probably the most obvious choice — Nathaniel Hackett of the Denver Broncos.

It’s well known that the Broncos have drastically underperformed this year when considering the lofty expectations they had entering the campaign. They did bring in Russell Wilson, after all, to end the quarterback woes they have dealt with since Peyton Manning retired after Super Bowl 50. Instead, he’s added to it.

Hackett hasn’t exactly done himself any favors, as the offense has underperformed despite the fact that he was an offensive expert out of Green Bay. Hackett even brought in a game management coach early on in his tenure.

Week 12 did Hackett no favors. They faced a Carolina Panthers team that was starting their third different quarterback in three weeks. This was a winnable game. Of course, the Broncos were decisively beaten.

Carolina dominated time of possession, logging over 37 minutes. The offense couldn’t do much of anything, logging just 246 total yards in just over 22 minutes with possession of the football. Wilson was once again inefficient, throwing for just 142 yards.

Now, the Broncos are 3-8 on the season. It looks more and more likely that Hackett will be one-and-done in Denver.
